Written by KGF Vissers. It was like a test: can the third part of a franchise that spawned out of another franchise that wasn't that good be any good?
Can Ron Perlman and Billy Zane save it? And the test was failed miserably. Let me explain this to you in a way that anyone can understand: if you watch this on fast forward x4, it will be a total waste of your time.
At least Ron Perlman has a small role appearing at the beginning and the end of the film. Billy Zane does his usual evil smiling villain, but it is not enough.
And the "Scorpion King", not only does he not act like one, he actually plays the entire movie as a positive hero with no baggage.
The only connection remains the "deep voiced" words of the narrator who pretty much says: "this is the Scorpion King!
And the actor He played in Mutant X, for crying out loud, and looks like an underwear model. Bottom line: avoid this film at all costs.

When Horus arrives at the city gates, he is greeted by Mathayus, who has taken up the mantle of Scorpion King once more.
During the credits, it's revealed Mathayus and Silda shared a kiss on the night of their earlier party, though Silda appears to leave the prospects of a relationship with him behind as she bestows him the artifact which could one day be used to contact Anubis.
While Mathayus may still have a while before deciding to lead his people on his fated quest to take over the known world, his destiny is now more clear than ever in the subtly more militant stance he has taken compared to where he was at the end of the prior original film, with the Book of the Dead left intact for the subsequent events in The Mummy and the Scorpion King's own journey paved for the opening sequence of The Mummy Returns.
The script originally called for most of the movie to be set in Europe. But because of the movie's limited budget, the director moved the movie to Thailand, where it's cheaper to shoot.
They used CGI to add the sand around Horus's city, which is supposed to be in a desert. They had extras for the battle scenes, but most of the fighting was done with the main cast plus just 12 stunt men, who played multiple roles in different costumes so they could be in all of the battles.
The rest of the extras weren't trained to fight, so they stayed in the background, and careful observers can see that they aren't actually doing any dangerous fighting themselves.
They were originally planning for Zulu Kondo to throw his hammer, then have it magically fly back to his hand. But they decided to cut that bit when they saw the movie Thor had already done the same thing.
Many of the movie's scenes were done at tourist locations, which they weren't able to reserve just for themselves. So they frequently had to stop filming because tourists walked through the scene.
The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption was met with mixed to negative critical reception. Victor Webster reprised his role from the third film.
